General Information:
Paper Heritage, founded in 1979, are retail stamp dealers, based in England, dealing in non-Commonwealth stamps, from classics
to modern, and quality thematics (topicals). We attend stamp fairs around Britain and also
sell by post and through the Internet.
Our Olympic Stamps for Sale:
We have listed the Winter Olympic stamps that we have for sale by Olympic meeting or groups
of meetings. Although we have prepared pages for the summer games, the absence of the proposed
Domfil catalogue has put this project on 'hold'. Within the Olympic pages, the navigation bars allow
you to change easily from winter meeting to winter meeting.
Catalogue Numbers for Olympic Stamps:
1. Winter Games: We have based our Winter games listing extensively upon Domfil, who list the
stamps, together with Michel, Scott and Yvert numbers. All listings are in both Spanish and
English. The Domfil winter catalogue should be available through your local
bookshop or philatelic supplier. If you have any difficulty finding
the catalogue, please email us.
2. Summer Games : We had hoped to produce our Summer Games lists on the same basis but, as of
May 2006, a police investigation in Spain has closed down Afinsa operations and, with it,
apparently, the production of the proposed Domfil Summer Olympics catalogue.
Some individual sports have been coded, for quick referecne, but the summer sports' codes are
for an imaginary listing, yet to be produced!
Finding your Sport:
We have tried to help you in finding individual sports by providing a coded listing of sports
covered in each set. Where a vast number of sports are covered in a set or, perhaps, in the borders
of a miniature sheet, we have included 'md' (multiple disciplines) amongst the codes. You may wish
to check the 'md' as well as your own sport. Please note that, unless you wish to check for a code
by eye, you can simplify the search by holding down the 'Control' key and pressing '
F '. This will allow you to highlight each instance of a code in turn on that web page.
A full list of the codes we have used / propose to use later, is
located near the foot of this page. We have not listed sports such as skiing,
which are commonly encountered.
Scans:
Stock items for which there is a scan on this website have a reference in the right-hand
column of the lists, e.g. ' v42 '. Clicking on this reference takes you NOT to that stamp,
but to the index page for all olympic scans; therefore, please memorize the scan
reference before clicking on the link. A link to the scans index page is also available at the top and
bottom of each sales page.
As the link to the scan index page opens a new browser window, you will be able to move easily between the sales
pages and the scan index.
Ordering Stamps:
We do not yet have an electronic 'shopping basket', so customers are asked to copy and paste items
of interest from our lists into a word.doc (or similar) and to either email or post this list to us.
Contact details are on our Home Page.
Prices are in Pounds Sterling. Postage is extra. All stamps are sent at purchaser's risk.
Royal Mail insurance is available to most countries, but not the USA, at a cost, in addition to
postage of approximately Pounds Sterling 5.50. (Royal Mail is one of the world's most expensive for this
service). Royal Mail does not provide insurance to the USA. Insurance is available via other
carriers, however. Please ask us, if you require information about this.
Paying for Stamps:
ALL PRICES ARE IN POUNDS STERLING. Payment may be made by UK cheque, bank draft in Sterling (drawn on a
British Bank), cash in U.S. Dollars, Euros or Sterling. We would ask EU customers,
whenever practicable, to pay smaller sums in cash, either in Euros or Sterling.
We also accept Paypal payments. This service is principally for U.S. customers, although European
customers may use it by prior agreement. All PayPal payments must be made in Pounds Sterling ONLY and all PayPal payments will be
subject to a surcharge of 3.0%, a contribution towards Paypal's fees (minimum surcharge, 75 pence).
Payment may also be made directly to our bank account but
all fees, i.e. both sender's and receiver's, must be paid by the customer. This is rarely an
economic way of paying and may incur considerable delay, since our bank does not notify us of such
receipts, except on our monthly bank statements.
Please do NOT send any payments until we have confirmed that we are holding the stamps for you. We usually only have
one example of an item on our list, which we cannot usually replace, if sold.
Guarantee:
If you are in any way unhappy with any part of your purchase, we shall replace them, where
possible, or take back the stamps and refund you the purchase price (but not postage).
Understanding our listings (jargon):
A summary of philatelic abbreviations may be found via the Paper Heritage Home Page (link
below) or directly via this link.
Please use your 'back' button afterwards, if you wish to return to this page.
Viewing our stocks in person:
A list of stamp fairs, which we are attending, may be accessed from out Home Page (link below).
Please email us before the fair to confirm that we shall be carrying our Olympic Stock on that
day. Please put 'Olympic Stamps' in the email title.
